Meet the Director
Elizabeth Wagman Emigh
has a Master's Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory, where she later served on the Preparatory and Adult Extension faculty for six years. She teaches voice classes at Diablo Valley College, conducts for the Piedmont Children's Chorus, has a private voice studio in Oakland, and has been Director of Choirs at Clayton Valley High School for over twenty-five years. Performance credits include The Lamplighters, Piedmont Light Opera, and Actors Ensemble of Berkeley. She has vocal directed musicals at UC Davis, Actors Ensemble of Berkeley, and Diablo Valley College. She has sang for fifteen years with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, which won three Grammy awards during her membership, and has served as soprano soloist at Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church and Calvary Lutheran Church in Millbrae.
Show Choir
Show is a dancing and singing ensemble that specializes in musical theater and pop music. The class is open to any students in grades 9-12. Students must display high energy, strong rehearsal discipline, and work well with partners. Membership is by audition only.
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is a class open to all students in grades 9-12. Students will learn vocal technique and fundamentals of music reading, as well as performing choral music of different styles, cultures, and historical periods. No audition necessary.
Women's Ensemble
Women's Ensemble is an advanced class open to students whose voice range is soprano or alto. Students must have previous classical choral and music reading experience and must be able to hold their own part against others. Students sing a wide variety of repertoire in multiple languages. Membership is by audition only.
